– It was noted that the Council received the complaints in respect of Thrinai College of Pharmacy (Andhra Pradesh) for B.Pharm course and PCI has arranged surprise inspection. As per inspection report, following deficiencies pointed out as under –

i. In one building institute is running B. Tech (CSE & AI), college of pharmacy. One bus of nursing college & same thing observed give indication of nursing college also.
ii. Approved map shown was not of pharmacy college that was of engineering college.
iii. Management was shown documents of staff but physically there was no principal & staff. Only one member with M. Pharm qualification was present.
iv. Laboratories: – Only name plates of laboratories were available, no working table, no water/gas facility was available.
v. All laboratories were without any instrument/so no instrument, no glasswares were present. Old chemical & few glasswares were seen in one lab on one wooden table.
vi. Library shown at the time of inspection was not up to the mark. There were four Racks/Almirah in library. One for pharmacy books (few), second for engineering & rest for nursery books.
vii. No machine room, no central instrumentation room was available.
viii. Most part of building was under construction.
ix. There was no none teaching staff, no lab technician, no attendant and clerical staff in the institute.
x. Institute failed to show herbal garden & museum in the institute.

– In view of above, EC decided to issue notice to institution as to why action should not be initiated for issuance of withdrawal of approval of the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

1. It was a multi institutional campus with no physical demarcation/boundary between different colleges/ buildings, so required area of land during online inspection could not be assured.
